Why
Musicals? For many years we have used
these as a way of reaching out into the community with the Christian story and
at the same time growing creative people and ministries within the church. They
give children and adults an opportunity to develop skills, build self confidence
and grow faith. Churches and Christian Schools
benefit because musicals encourage new friendships, foster team work and develop
a ministry skill base - so important for seeker friendly services. Those involved
don't all have to act and sing. It needs all kinds of people - for costumes,
building a set, sound and lighting and others to promote the production within
the community. Musicals are ideal
at Christmas, Easter and during the winter months when outside recreational
activities are limited. In the past, the greatest difficulty
in presenting has been finding good musicians and having enough time to rehearse.
Now with our Performance Pack a great many of these problems have been overcome.
