Vision Statement - We are committed, through the medium of
the Performing Arts, to present the Good News of Jesus Christ to a secular
world and to challenge and encourage those who share the great Christian
journey of Faith.
Our
History
The company that is now Source Productions began life in 1982 as Source
Ministries and Source Publishing Company. The role the ministry group
was to train church youth leaders in the creative arts and to perform,
while the publishing company produced scripts and resources. During
the 1980's Source Ministries travelled around New Zealand and Australia
taking leadership workshops and giving live performances of drama and
musicals.
By 1990 Source Ministries had become Source Theatre to highlight the
ministries move away from leadership training and towards performance.
During this time Source Publishing undertook commercial printing to
help fund the ministry. Between 1990-2000 both organisations grew. Over
the last ten years Source Theatre has produced many productions and
has performed throughout New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. The last
assignment has been performing the drama in the evening celebrations
at the Baptist World Congress in Melbourne, Australia - January
2000. Today, Source Publishing has a staff of sixteen and continues
to develop and grow. Source Production's primary purpose is to develop
musical productions for churches, Christian schools and creative organisations
to perform.
